New Air Nozzle Offers Flexibility and Energy Savings   7/1/2001

Vortec is pleased to announce the release of a new flexible hose nozzle to its extensive line of innovative compressed air products. The new model #1201F-12 is a new-to-the-market, small diameter, low thrust air nozzle that's perfect for applications with limited mounting space. The compact, 3/8" OD hose is fully flexible, yet holds its position under full line pressure to precisely direct airflows. The patented nozzle was developed for applications requiring less air consumption and thrust in assisting parts movement, blowoff, cooling or drying. The compact nozzles are ideal for parts feeders, vibratory bowls, packaging, printing and finishing equipment, and a wide range of assembly and process applications. The #1201F-12 nozzle's 1/8" NPT male threaded end and fully positionable, 12" hose make it easy to retrofit the nozzle for various needs, or replace existing flex line or bent copper tubing installations. The new nozzle delivers 6 ounces of thrust at a 12" distance, using only 9 SCFM (255 SLPM) of compressed air at 100 PSIG.

The new #1201F-12 joins the full line of Vortec Energy Saver Nozzles and Transvector Jets which are designed to significantly reduce compressed air consumption by amplifying the air output. The design accelerates airflow by entraining surrounding air as it exits the nozzle. Since airflow volumes out of the nozzles are up to 25 times more than the compressed air supplied, substantially less input compressed air is needed to do the same work. Replacing open copper tube jets with Energy Saver Nozzles will result in impressive energy savings and reductions in operating cost. These cost-saving nozzles also provide a drastic reduction in noise, and are often the solution to meeting OSHA noise specifications. The model #1201F-12, like all Vortec nozzles, meet OSHA dead-end pressure requirements even when supplied with 150 PSIG.

Vortec manufactures a complete line of innovative compressed air products that increase equipment efficiency, improve manufacturing productivity, and eliminate more costly methods for spot and enclosure cooling, blowoff and conveying of materials.
